Civ

set your goals.

This is CIV. CIV's best record ever. A band with the singer from Gorilla Biscuits. A band which plays a melodic, varying, heavy and aggressive music, that most people call Hardcore.

Really, I donīt know much about CIV. I heard them for the first time just a few weeks ago, bought this album, and went home to listen. Everybody talks about CIV, I just had to listen to them.

CIV

CIV is: Civ - sings, Sammy - drums, Arthur - bass, Charlie - guitar. Civ sang in the well known sXe-band Gorilla Biscuits before CIV. CIV isn't a straightedge band, but the person Civ is still sXe. Even though he doesnīt think about it....

This record was released at Atlantic Recording 1995, but that's the first record they released there. The two others were released at Revelation Records. Gorilla Biscuits were at Revelation, so...

Well, about THIS release:
There are 16 songs, short ones, the shortest is 32 seconds (when you, like me, are used to 5-minutes-songs with eXc...), and the longest is like 3 minutes or something. They're good, every song rocks! The sound is varying from song to song, listen to "Soundtrack for violence", and then listen to "Set your goals"... It's two totally different songs, and that's one of the reasons why this CD is so great: It's not the same sound all the time! (Which you can find at any CD with for example the swedish band Breach.) And I just love it...

I know that long reviews are great and all that, but can be difficult to read at times, so I don't make this so big at all.
Go back to your boring, small flats, and think about buying it... Or just go a show with them and stuff.....
